Leeds Teaching Hospitals run an ICU follow-up outpatient clinic. Anyone who has spent 4 days or more on our ICU will be automatically be sent an appointment.  Although any of our ICU patients are welcome to attend – just ring ICU to request an appointment.

The aim of the clinic is to ensure patients are making a good recovery following a stay on the intensive care unit and to answer any questions they may have related to their illness or hospital stay. Whatever the reason for being admitted to ICU the issues you may have, be those memory loss, nightmares and hallucinations or slow recovery to name a few, are common to critical illness and we are experts in understanding this. We have the time in clinic to discuss your concerns and hopefully help you on the next stage of your rehabilitation. We encourage patients to come with relatives or friends as we appreciate many people have little or muddled recollections of their time on intensive care.
